I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with a BA in physics and have been tutoring since 2014. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as college students and adults. I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, math, physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as editing essays for admission to college or graduate school. I also offer help with test prep (SAT/ACT), having scored 36 (perfect score) on the ACT as well as in the 90% percentile on the LSAT. One of my previous students is currently studying at Harvard and another is in law school at University of California Berkeley. Another student of mine was recently awarded the John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize.
I also have experience as a career mentor and have helped students prepare for interviewing and applying to jobs, working particularly with students from underprivileged backgrounds entering the tech industry. My mentees have received job offers from companies such as Bank of America, Lowes, and Truist.
I am comfortable teaching both in person and remotely (over zoom), and I will personalize my teaching approach to an individual student's learning style. When tutoring, I aim to guide students without giving them the answers outright. My goal is to teach them the underlying principles in their subject of study so they can continue solving problems themselves, instead of just going through the motions of calculating an answer. I care deeply about each and every one of my students and will always strive to teach them to the best of my ability so they can continue excelling in the future.
