I enjoy helping a student (or adult student) achieve their potential through a customized plan heavy on affirmative pedagogic techniques. In other words, I enjoy assisting in the process whereby a student realizes, and takes pride in, their own mastery of the subject. My end goal is for you to end up comfortable with the subject material. That is, rather than simply improve a grade or specific test score, my goal is for you to have no anxiety or trepidation about the material and to be able to navigate, explain, and justify the material at hand with ease.
I am months away from completing my dissertation and earning my doctorate. My research is firmly within the humanities, which means that reading, writing, and an appreciation for grammar have been integral to my daily and professional life for a decade now. I am very well versed in 20th century literature (French & English) and other classic material. My philosophical training has left me particularly mindful of the importance of details and consistency, which play a major role in the mastery of English.
I have a bachelors degree in religious studies and Jewish studies, and a Master's degree also in the field of religious studies. Religious studies, however, is not theology. This means that my training is certainly rich in scriptural (namely biblical) exegesis and understanding, but that it is moreover built upon an understanding of religiosity itself as a phenomenon.
