The last 4 years I have tutored with the supplemental education services tutoring and the "no child left behind" program. This year I was the Aiken County Coordinator for a company based out of Virginia. I enjoy tutoring children and I have the patience it takes to continue to work with them until they grasp the subject matter. I think that it is very sad that a lot of students today have no understanding of how to write a sentence. I am not sure whether this is due to all the shorthand we use in text messaging and on the computer. I encourage all of my ELA students to keep a daily journal so that they can practice the written world everyday. I also have a love of U.S. history. I was 3 hours short of have a degree in history. I have a love for Civil War history and have tutored students in that area as well as other areas of U.S. history and Social Studies.
