I was a teacher in a public school for thirty-five years. I enjoyed teaching and working with children. Most of my years I taught first and second grade students. I really enjoyed working with the lower grades. The experience helped me to realize how important it is to have a good foundation. In my classroom I created an atmosphere that was exciting and comfortable for my students. Students must feel at ease for effective learning. After retirement I was able to work in a teacher's classroom with small pull out groups. I worked with fifth and fourth graders for two years. I was able to give them the extra time that they needed in small groups. I worked with them three days a week. Their test scores improved tremendously.
I have taught for over thirty-five years. I have been given many courses that makes me strong in the areas listed.
