A current Master in Education student, I have over 12 years of experience in diverse subjects, including TOEFL, SAT, ACT, GED, and GRE test preparation, as well as writing, reading, math, theater, and chess. I've worked with students of all ages and all nationalities. My approach is to always adapt to the student's needs so that each lesson is clear, challenging, achievable, relaxed, and fun.

I started teaching English in the Czech Republic in 2005. Upon my return, I continued to teach and tutor at various institutions in the Massachusetts area. I have a wide experience with nationalities from all over the word, helping them with reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills, as well as preparing them for the TOEFL.

I've also worked with American students to prepare them for various tests. I have equal experience in math and literature.

I've also initiated and taught after school chess and theater groups.

I received my TEFL Certification from TEFL Worldwide Prague in 2005. I continued to teach English in Czech Republic until August 2006. When I returned to the US, I taught in Kaplan Aspect at Dean College from January 2007 until December 2009. I taught all levels grammar, reading and writing, Business English, and TOEFL, and other various electives. I continued to teach English in ELC, located in Boston, and then again at Dean College under Study Group. At the moment, I am teaching for EDU Boston in Pawtucket, RI. In addition to the above experience, I had and have a number of private ESL students whom I tutor.

I am currently the copy editor for an international fashion magazine, StyleZeigeist Magazine. I proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and flow. In addition, I have over 10 years of experience in proofreading numerous high school and college essays and research papers.

Great Tutor!!

Irina was exactly the tutor I needed to help raise my SAT scores. She really helped me to see my full potential as a student and brought out knowledge in me I didn't even know existed! Getting tutored by her was a fun time but she also was very determined and motivated for me to understand the topic at hand. If she could tell that i wasn't understanding she would change her tactics and use a new approach. Anything she could do to help, she would. I highly recommend Irina as a tutor as my SAT scores after learning from her went up drastically!

Excellent tutor!

Irina is a very kind and knowledgeable tutor! She worked well with my daughter, Nicole, to accommodate her busy schedule and even add extra hours when needed. Irina helped to improve Nicole's GRE writing score so that she will now be attending grad school. Irina worked with Nicole to format the structure of the essays, provided tips for what the judges look for, and edited her work. Overall, I would highly recommend Irina as a tutor!
