One in a million
Many years ago at a library auction, I ran across a little volume of Pliny's Letters. It was the beginning of long search which led me to the discovery of the Loeb Classic series. The Loeb Classic series is a set of red (Latin) and green (Greek) volumes containing the writings of the ancient Greek and Latin authors. There are over 500 volumes in the series, with each volume containing the English translation on the right and the original Greek or Latin on the left. I have managed to acquire a little over half of the volumes at this point. My dream is to be able to read the left hand pages. And so I began my journey. I tried to teach myself Latin with Wheelock. I hired a university tutor. I later had a Latin tutor come to my office once a week (which ended with Covid). I have now begun again with Caitlin and Greek. Caitlin is amazing. I am not a young person and am in fact past the retirement age for most people. I still own and run my own investment firm and will not be retiring for some time. I am successfully memorizing The Iliad in Greek and am just beginning to circle back around to Latin with the memorization of The Aeneid. My lessons with Caitlin are wonderful! She is well read, articulate, kind, witty, engaging and quite knowledgeable not only in the Greek, Latin, and German languages, but also in poetry, Shakespeare and English literature. Our lessons are something I very much look forward to and I would highly recommend Caitlin to anyone who is interested in pursuing these languages. She will push you and will have high expectations for you, but she will pick you up when you fall and encourage you when your commitment is flagging. My son is in eighth grade and has interest in learning Latin. He is doing custom Latin 1 course currently, under Cait's guidance. Cait is a knowledgeable, meticulous and patient teacher who makes learning Latin grammar easy to grasp and the overall learning process a fun activity.

Caitlin went above and beyond in preparing for my tutoring session and determining what would be most helpful. She is very thoughtful in her approach. Caitlin had pulled passages she thought I would benefit from working through and sent me quizlets specific to areas I was struggling with.
