About Marc

Marc, a URI alum, graduated summa cum laude in May of 2015 with a major in philosophy and a minor in English. His work was concentrated in classical logic and he was awarded the Lynn Pasquerella Book Prize in Ethics. As a student, he also maintained a position as teaching assistant for Phl 101, critical thinking. He has hundreds of hours of experience working with students, from one-on-one instruction to lecture halls. Among his completed works are a series of heuristic tools designed to help teach and memorize certain principles of classical categorical logic. These skills and experiences, along with his additional background in English, literature and writing, can easily be utilized by students of almost any area of study.

As a philosophy major with a minor in English, most of his time at university was spent writing papers.

Marc's recent experiences and success at URI make him a prime source of knowledge when it comes to successful study skills, habits and general navigation through the college experience.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
