I've taught at the middle school level for sixteen years. My true passions in life are teaching and writing; I'm also a published author. My teaching credo has always been 'if I can achieve a goal, so can you with some hard work and sincere effort'. As a teacher I've always encouraged and supported my students to reach their goals and when they've done so, go beyond them. I love bringing new facets of creativity into my curriculum to make even the most mundane topic fun to learn - if it's creatively presented, chances are students are more likely to be receptive and retain what they've learned beyond academic assessments. I also include practicality in applying what I teach by tying everything together into one cohesive perspective: what is taught in the classroom can be applied to the world outside those parameter. I have dyslexia, and I've taught students with similar disabilities, always emphasizing my aforementioned credo: if I can achieve a goal, so can you with some hard work and sincere effort'. If you're ready to tackle your own mountain, come along for the learning adventure, and walk away wiser for it.
