I offer specialized test preparation and consultations for admission to elite universities in the US. I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science and hold bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Music and a Master's in Anthropology all from Stanford University. I have taught individual test prep classes for over 10 years in Europe and the US, and have worked with students on projects ranging from college, graduate school and business school admissions to help with academic papers and policy briefs. I currently teach professional development courses at several elite universities and am happy to help with any specialized projects you may have to succeed in your goals.

I offer private tutoring for students and professionals applying to elite universities. Individualized test preparations for TOEFL, SAT, ACT, LSAT, GMAT and GRE exams as well as inside information on how to prepare a successful application for entry into an elite university (i.e. Ivy League, Harvard, Stanford, etc.) and how to find and apply for scholarships. For serious students---work with me, work hard, and you will open up your future!

Additionally, I am a professional violinist and I am happy to offer lessons to intermediate and advanced students in violin, viola, early music, or providing help with music theory and composition. I performed for the last ten years in Europe, playing classical, early music, and contemporary music and have studied at Stanford University and the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. I teach students with a mix of ear training and more traditional approaches to reading music and learning music theory. High quality lessons for the serious learner!

We will work on all aspects of violin playing and theory, and of course, finding a violin if you are a beginner! I normally teach in English, but can also teach in French, Spanish and Bengali.

Finally, with my wide variety of degrees, if you need help in college or grad school in the areas of Anthropology, Public Policy, Political Science, any of the Social Sciences, W

Anthropology

Anthropology

I'm currently a visiting researcher at Brown University's Department of Anthropology. My doctoral research is based on 3 years of multi-site fieldwork, and I have a Master's Degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University (2007). I give academic lectures around the world in this field and I am a member of the American Anthropological Association. I've helped fellow anthropology students on grant proposals for fieldwork and dissertation project proposals. I often give talks on various specialized methodologies for conducting anthropological fieldwork.
Business

Business

I am currently a member of the teaching team for Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Stanford Center for Professional Development. I teach three business courses: Cultivating the Entrepreneurial Mindset, Strategy Driven Innovation, and Scaling Excellence. I will be teaching at the Stanford Graduate School of Business's LEAD Program from March. I have tutored for 4 years in Belgium with GMAT prep, working for MBA Center and privately, and I will now be working with Brown University's Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship so I am well-versed in preparing people for business school and consulting on business practices. My dissertation topic is also investigating how businesses move from Silicon Valley to India and the changes to ecosystems in Bangalore, London and Silicon Valley.
Ear Training

Ear Training

Ear training is an important component to all my violin courses along with sight singing which are both particularly weak with students. Both skills are a necessity for studying music theory. I am well-equipped to teach courses and help students in this area. For 10 years now, I've been teaching primarily adult-beginner students in Europe and in California prior to that. I enjoy teaching adults and focus on ear training with a mix of the Suzuki method and classic theory for violin lessons. Ear training courses will be at the piano and involve hearing chords and playing back or singing back melodies and harmonies.
Music History

Music History

My music degree from stanford required rigorous training in music history and I actually started a doctorate in Musicology (2006-2007) at Stanford University. My music degrees from Brussels are pedagogical degrees, which means I have to be trained in music history in order to teach it. I have a passion for music history and have taught music appreciation courses to adults in the past. I also taught a course with Zakir Hussain at Stanford on the history of Indian music.
Political Science

Political Science

I'm completing my doctorate in Political Science and I have a bachelor's degree in Public Policy. I have taught political science course and the college level, including a course, 'Political Structures in Developing Countries- POLI 355' for upper level majors. I am well-versed in political science methodologies and could easily tutor students in high school and college with their courses. I can also help prepare graduate students for grant-writing proposals, and proofreading/editing of academic texts. I used to do this for several faculty members across universities in Europe.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I've taken sight singing courses my entire life and I've helped fellow students with solfeggio over the years. The past two years, I've added a sight-singing component to all my violin courses as I have noticed that ear training and sight singing are particularly weak with students and they are a necessity for studying music theory. I am well-equipped to teach courses and help students in this area. For 10 years now, I've been teaching primarily adult-beginner students in Europe and in California prior to that. I enjoy teaching adults and focus on ear training with a mix of the Suzuki method and classic theory .
Violin

Violin

I perform professionally as a freelance baroque violinist, and I compose my own projects. I have been playing violin since I was 5 and I have a B.A. in Music with a specialization in Violin Performance from Stanford University, a second B.A. in Historical Music Performance and I'm finishing up my M.A. in Historical Music from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels. Both degrees specialize in violin and viola performance. For 10 years now, I've been teaching primarily adult-beginner students in Europe and in California prior to that. I enjoy teaching adults and focus on ear training with a mix of the Suzuki method and classic theory.
