Astrophysics PhD for Test Prep, Mathematics, and Science Tutoring

Hello, I'm Anthony! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a B.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Astronomy; I have earned a PhD in Physics from Brown University with a focus on Astrophysics specifically. I first began tutoring as a volunteer during high school, where I worked to support students in low-income neighborhoods of Boston, MA. After realizing how much I enjoyed teaching as a volunteer tutor, throughout college I continued to tutor through a combination of private students and several positions as a teaching assistant. During this time, I developed my primary teaching style, which relies on first creating an environment where students are comfortable and then building lessons tailored to their strengths and weaknesses in a given subject.

Between teaching in my undergraduate career and private tutoring, I have over five years of experience teaching high school and undergraduate students in Math, Physics, and Astronomy. This includes two distinct learning environments: one-on-one tutoring and Team-Based-Learning, where students in a large class are placed in groups of no more than 10. I have worked with students preparing for the SAT and ACT, tutoring students in Advanced Placement courses such as AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC, and have worked with undergraduate students taking both introductory and advanced Physics, Math, and Astronomy courses.
