I look forward to tutoring special needs high school and college students in the CT/RI and Mass. area.

Learning can be a challenge for students with so much information and terms to learn. I can draw outlines, illustrations and show videos to help simplify large amounts of information into understandable concepts and manageable chunks for visual learners with special needs. My up-to date teaching techniques have integrated visual and online learning tools for such students, making me a competent teacher.

I also use a 2-step process to help explain the relevance and inter-relation among different terms. For one, I emphasize terms and material that have practical applications in the real world. Learning about human biodevelopment and the neurology of brain disorders will prepare students for hospital jobs after graduation from high school or college.

Secondly, I teach terms in ways that relate subjects to something the students can relate to in their own lives. For example, student athletes may have an easier time understanding the brain after knowing how the cerebellum and motor nerves coordinate a person's muscle movement on the athletic field. Students may also have an easier time understanding Ancient Greece and Rome after understanding how those civilization influenced American stadium sports and democratic government.

As a science teacher and tutor I look forward to helping you understand biology: the science of life. I can draw outlines, illustrations and show videos of molecule bonding of structures inside the cells of various body tissues to help simplify large amounts of information into understandable concepts and manageable chunks for visual learners with special needs. My up-to date teaching techniques have integrated visual and online learning tools for such students, making me a competent teacher. I also emphasize terms and material that have practical applications in the real world in ways that connect subjects to something the students can relate to in their own lives. For example, student athletes may have an easier time understanding the brain after knowing how the cerebellum and motor nerves coordinate a person's muscle movement on the athletic field.

As a Biopsychology major with a minor in Art at CT College, I am excited to tutor drawing and painting lessons to students interested in scientific illustration. I am a skilled drawer and painter of biological anatomy, plants ("still-life") and of cell biology. One of my favorite artists of all time is Leonardo DaVinci and I would be pleased to tutor artists of all skill levels between Providence and Boston who are interested in science or just plain old art. I am skilled at shading a variety of shapes using "crosshatching" (via HB and 6B pencils). I have also tutored people about how to use different shades of paint to create the illusion of depth and volume of objects on canvas.

I am a musician who is very excited to tutor you in beginner and intermediate guitar lessons. I have been studying the guitar since I was 15 and have taken guitar lessons for 5 years from prestigious instructor Bob Greico (of The Musician Studio) in Red Bank, NJ. I start out teaching students about individual notes of the major scale on the neck of the guitar until they are ready to graduate to the study of chords and major keys. I can teach all about the notes, intervals, chords and scales in ways that are fun and will get you playing the guitar in less than 6 months!

I feel that I am qualified to tutor nutrition because my expertise in health psychology has helped me to understand the roles played by various nutrients in the body. Humans, like all animals, need carbohydrates, proteins and fats for their bodies to function properly. For one, the proteins found in meats, legumes and eggs are essential for the building blocks of our bodies tissues (particularly the cells found in our skin and muscles). People also need carbohydrates found in grains and fruit that their digestive system turns to glucose. People's muscles and nerve cells burn glucose for energy and work during respiration which is necessary for survival. Organisms also need fatty acids for warmth and lubrication. Lastly, vitamins and minerals play an important role in the health of our blood (vitamin K), bones (calcium and vitamin D) and vision (vitamin A). I hope to enlighten students with my expertise in the structure and function of the aforementioned nutrients. Please contact me if you need help in the microbiology of nutrition.

As a tutor and professor I am excited to help students understand behavior and the human mind. I enjoy enlightening students about various therapies used to treat depression and anxiety or about surgeries necessary to cure neurological diseases. I can also engage the students in thought-provoking discussions about group dynamics and the ethics of medical and behavioral treatments for aggressive behaviors and addictions.

As a professor with an MA degree in Social Science, I am very excited to tutor Social Studies. I have been qualified for years to tutor visual learners with special needs in history and sociology. In addition to helping students graduate and prepare for college, I believe that helping students to understand the history of various cultures can improve their social understanding and sense of civic responsibility so essential in our diverse 21st society. I am an expert at using outlines to help students understand the history and institutions of Europe and the Americas. I also use artistic techniques to help visual learners with special needs. This includes drawing maps and showing online videos to illustrate the connections between past and current events. This includes explaining how ancient Greece and Rome have shaped American government and culture as well as explaining how Crusades and the World Wars have foreshadowed current conflict in the the Middle East.

Hello Students. As a history tutor with background in social sciences, I am very excited to tutor World History. I have helped students in various subjects for years at different colleges and am love kindling students' interest in world history by relating the information to current, real-life themes relevant to students own lives. I also use outlines and artistic techniques to help visual learners with special needs. This includes helping students organize outlines, draw maps and showing videos to illustrate the connections between ancient civilizations and current American culture and government. I also enjoy illustrating the link between the Crusades, World Wars and current conflict in Middle East.
