I have always loved learning, especially when it connects ideas from different subjects. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Geographical Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from the University of Maryland, College Park, followed by a Master of Arts in Global Arts and Cultures from the Rhode Island School of Design. Today, I teach in higher education and work in nonprofit communications, where I spend much of my time writing, researching, and helping others learn through clear communication. I enjoy showing students that learning is not about memorizing facts. It is about becoming curious and figuring out how to think through new challenges.
My tutoring experience began in high school, when I found that I genuinely enjoyed helping classmates understand material in a way that made sense to them. Since then, I have worked with both high school and college students in one-on-one tutoring and classroom settings. I like to meet students where they are, whether they need help preparing for an exam, organizing a paper, or building confidence in a subject that feels intimidating. I know how frustrating it can be when something just is not clicking, so I aim to create a relaxed space where questions are always welcome. Some of my favorite moments as a teacher are when a student realizes they understand something they once thought was beyond them. Helping students reach that point is why I love teaching.
