I received a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the University of Connecticut, and taught there for eight years. I also taught for six years at Providence College as a Visiting Assistant Professor, as well as other colleges around Rhode Island, such as Johnson & Wales University and CCRI. In addition to my 15+ years of teaching experience, I have 6+ years of experience tutoring at UConn, both one-on-one and in groups.
While the majority of my teaching has been at a chalkboard in physical classrooms of around 30 students, I have also taught and tutored online. My firm belief is that anyone can do Mathematics and I aim to make my students comfortable and unstressed about the topic. I provide clear direction with plenty of examples and feedback. It has always been most important to me that students become confident and well-prepared.
I have a calm demeanor and am happy and very easy to talk to. I also know that both of our time is precious, so I get to the point quickly, with relevant examples. I will not waste time with stories, or strange niche results that are not helpful.
I have taught undergraduate students, and have tutored both college and high school students. I am looking forward to helping you gain expertise.
