To all prospective students:
Hello! My name is Noah and I’m an Unreal Engine Gameplay and UI Engineer. I went for my undergraduate program to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo as a Graphic Communication major and continued my studies at an online Game Development school called Vertex School. I’m currently working as a programmer in the industry for a game studio in Los Angeles.
I taught students of all ages as a mentor at Vertex School for a year after graduating from the program. At Vertex, I led labs of 20 or more students as well as assisted students in scheduled one on one sessions. I also mentor interns at my current company, guiding them through the codebase and the project our company is working on.
Game development is such an exciting field and everyone in it is passionate about what they do! Because of this, I believe the best approach to learning how to create games is to try to understand how our favorite games were made and recreating some of our favorite aspects of those games.
I’d love to help you on your journey to becoming a game developer!
