About Bailey

Bio

My name is Bailey and I am a medical student at the University of Miami, having completed my undergraduate studies at Brown University. I am currently doing a Fulbright award in Ireland, so my times have changed, but I am still available virtually!

I am here to help YOU learn best! Due to my interests in psychiatry, along with my experiences with trial & error in my own learning, I am here to help you go beyond boring study plans–I want to help you repair your relationship with learning!...

My name is Bailey and I am a medical student at the University of Miami, having completed my undergraduate studies at Brown University. I am currently doing a Fulbright award in Ireland, so my times have changed, but I am still available virtually!

I am here to help YOU learn best! Due to my interests in psychiatry, along with my experiences with trial & error in my own learning, I am here to help you go beyond boring study plans–I want to help you repair your relationship with learning!

I am a fluent Spanish speaker after having lived in Miami, FL, and Spain, but am not a native speaker. This means I remember each painful step I took in learning the language. I would love to help you improve your Spanish and/or medical Spanish using methods I have personally tried and other alternatives. I was paid to be an Intermediate Spanish teaching assistant (TA) at Brown and currently help design medical Spanish learning activities in medical school, so I am confident I can help you too.

I also have excelled at science prerequisites to get to medical school, including biology, basic chemistry and physics, math, and critical reading. Therefore, I can help with science classes or MCAT prep. I received a 513 on my first try on the MCAT without tutoring, classes, good resources, or a realistic study plan, so I would like to help others learn from my mistakes! I also managed to increase my Step 2 score by 20 points in the 1.5 weeks before my exam, and can recommend different learning approaches for those taking USMLEs to help you get to where you want to get, faster than I did.

Lastly, I have extensive experience with application writing for college, research positions (former research coordinator at Mass General Hospital) and medical school applications. I would love to help you create an application that conveys your truth in the clearest and most interesting way.

Let’s learn how to help you learn best, together!

Lots of experience in neuropsychiatric research as well.
Genetics

Genetics

I am a 3rd-year medical student, having received a 100 on my genetics exam in medical school and an A in my Genetics course at an Ivy League college. Genetics can be difficult, and I can help you with the tools I learned along my genetics journey!
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I would love to help you convey who you really are in an interview. I have lots of experience preparing for job and undergraduate/graduate school interviews and have developed skills to sell myself in an effective way that I would like to share. My experience: I have successfully applied to college and was accepted to an Ivy League university, then interviewed & was accepted to work in a research position at one of the US's top hospitals, and successfully applied to medical school, being interviewed and subsequently accepted to a class of 200 out of 11,000 applicants.
MCAT

MCAT

I am a third-year medical student and I have gone through the grueling tasks of taking the MCAT and USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams. While I only got a 513 on my first try taking the MCAT, I did not use resources nor study plans that my peers were using. I am committed to helping you learn best for you, learning from someone on the inside.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I received a BSc in Neuroscience from an Ivy League university. I then went on to conduct neuropsychiatric research for 2 years in sleep and memory using M/EEG and MRI, and am now a medical student. I can help you with understanding basic neuroscience and clinical neurology.

I would love to help you effectively convey your truth on an application or in an essay. I have lots of experience writing applications and have figured out how to construct impactful narratives from my life--something I would like to share with you! My personal statement writing experience: I successfully applied to and attended to college an Ivy League university as an undergraduate, then applied and was accepted to work in a research position at one of the US's top hospitals, and successfully applied to medical school, being accepted to a class of 200 out of 11,000 applicants. I also was selected to receive a Fulbright Ireland Open Study/Research award in 2025, a competitive and prestigious scholarship program.

I can tell you in-context examples of how physiology is important from my own experiences, and can explain how the body works from micro to macro levels.

Proofreading

I would love to help you convey your truth on an application or in an essay. I have lots of experience writing applications and have developed skills to sell myself in an effective way that I would like to share. Psychology

Psychology

Can help with high school-level psychology courses. Received a 5 on the AP Psychology exam in high school, aced psychology courses at an Ivy League university, currently training to become a psychiatrist.
Spanish

Spanish

I am a medical student who has been learning Spanish for over 10 years. I have lived in both Spain and Miami, and in Miami have developed full fluency. I was a paid teaching assistant for Intermediate Spanish class at Brown University, and I run teaching workshops for medical Spanish in medical school in Miami where I treat patients all day in Spanish. Since I am not a native speaker, I remember each painful step in learning Spanish and can give you all the tips I have learned along the way and review relevant grammar, vocab, and pronunciation!
USMLE

USMLE

I struggled through taking Step 2 but managed to improve my score by 20pts in the last 2 weeks prior to my exam by changing my study style, from 220s to 240s. I found that tutors who did not struggle with test-taking were unable to help me improve my score beyond 220. I am able to help from someone who struggled to another! I enjoy finding little tweaks students can make to frame questions + situations in a different way and encouraging each step of the way. Half the battle is in the way we think about ourselves and the exam!
