Genetic Counseling student with collegiate tutoring experience

Gerald M.

Hello! My name is Gerald and I'm currently studying to become a Genetic Counselor at Boston University, but I have tutoring experience in Biology (General Bio, Biochemistry, Genetics, etc.), English (essay writing, creative styles, argumentative papers, etc.), Philosophy, and music (drums and guitar) from my undergraduate days at Boston College and in high school. I am super passionate about learning and I love figuring out how to help students learn in their own unique ways. I always say that if you can't teach someone something in a way that they understand, then you don't understand it well enough yourself. I hold myself to that standard!

I have access to whiteboards and my vast educational experiences for tutoring tougher concepts in biology, but I also love deep diving into essays and creative writing as well. Thinking about picking up the drums or guitar? I've been playing for my entire life and have written and published music with a band on Spotify. Want to discuss business concepts related to biotechnology? I got my graduate certificate in Biotech Management from Harvard and would love to help out with anything related to those concepts if the opportunity presents itself. Overall, I want to help you learn something new today and have you feel confident in your abilities as a student!

I prefer online tutoring sessions but am also available to meet in a public place (cafe, etc.) for an additional cost if that works better for the student. Each session will start with establishing goals and making sure I fit my tutoring style to your liking. Your time and money is valuable, so I want to make sure I give you the best experience possible. Looking forward to getting started!
