Hello! My name is Erin. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2016, which a double major in English and Secondary Education, as well as a minor in Trumpet Performance. I am currently teaching English at a charter high school in Northern Rhode Island, and am actively performing on the trumpet with the American Band as well as freelance gigs.
As an English teacher, I have the credibility and experience to assist young writers through the drafting and proofreading stages. Please note that I will not be coming up with ideas for these students; all work must be original. My role is to guide the writing in a way that the student learns how they can be successful at similar tasks in the future. These tutoring sessions can be held in person, or virtually, and are $35 per hour.
As a professional musician, I have had a studio of middle school (beginner) trumpet players for the last 3 years. I have also assisted high school students prepare for All State and Solo & Ensemble auditions, as well as adults who are interested in learning a new skill. I myself have been performing in the state of Rhode Island for the last 11 years, and remain an active musician outside of my full-time job. Trumpet lessons for students of all ages and skill levels would take place at the student's home, and are $40 per hour.
