My name is Tom, and I am here to aid you in your efforts in religious education. I have attended Christian institutions from my youth, and am well aware of the expectations, challenges, and rewards of religious studies. In the Fall of 2013, I graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministry. After graduating, I took on my current position as an assistant pastor which has given me the opportunity to work extensively with adolescents. While engaged in pastoral ministry, I am also currently pursuing a Master's of Arts in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Though I find the accumulation of knowledge somewhat satisfying, I find a greater joy in enabling others to comprehensively understand all those areas that are relevant to religious studies. My goal as a tutor is to cultivate organic, comprehensive understanding by tapping into a students basic intuitions and leading him or her towards critical reflection. My hope then is not to merely develop test-passing skills in a student, but to help him or her arrive at true knowledge and understanding.
On a personal note, I am married. If you or your student is female, I am open to working with you, but my wife will need to be present in some fashion (e.g. next room over), just so as to provide a safe-guard for both parties.
I would count it a privilege to join you in your journey in religious education and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
