I recently completed my PhD in Mathematics at the University of Rhode Island, where I also spent four years teaching undergraduate math as the instructor of record. I have over a decade of tutoring experience at every level, from middle school through graduate school, and I know that mathematics can be very rewarding when something finally "clicks," but it can also be demoralizing and frustrating when it doesn't. That's why I focus on finding exactly where things broke down and building back up from there.
Mathematics is designed to build on itself, from middle school all the way through graduate level courses. Every new topic requires previously learned fundamentals. Because I have extensive familiarity with this entire curriculum, I can quickly identify the weak areas and foundational gaps that are holding you back, giving you the knowledge and confidence to move forward.
My tutoring sessions are spent practicing. The best way to learn math at any level is to do math. I prepare custom practice problem sheets tailored to your needs, and we can also work through any of your existing course material, homework, exams, whatever you're stuck on.
I have also mastered the syllabus for Actuarial Exams P and FM, and I am eager to work with students heading down that path.
Feel free to reach out to schedule a lesson or ask any questions, I'd love to help!
