Special educator with experience at all levels. I have worked with intensive populations as well as SLD.

Trained in several reading and math programs including Wilson Reading and have used several others without formal training.

I have experience with students diagnosed with specific learning disabilities and severe cognitive impairments. It is a passion of mine to help students improve and also learn how to advocate for themselves. I feel that making progress toward IEP goals is just as important as learning their individual needs and accommodations and having the ability to articulate them to their teachers. I enjoy empowering students to ask for what they need and learning how to advocate for themselves.

I have taught elementary math for 3 years. I'm good at taking curriculum and adjusting it to the child's learning style. I'm creative in coming up with ideas for making abstract concepts become concrete.

I have used several reading programs such as; Read Naturally, Wilson Reading, Edmark Reading program, Language! Reading program and general curriculum like reading street. I've also used phonemic awareness programs (Michael heggerty) and have experience in teaching reading to a variety of age and grade levels

I'm certified and have taught for 4 years as a special educator at both the elementary and secondary levels.

Wilson reading trained and experience with strategies from the Florida Center for Reading Research.
