Hi — thanks for reading my profile! I'm a PhD candidate in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University and a current teaching assistant for undergraduate Spanish and literature courses. Spanish is my native language, and I've spent my academic career studying and teaching how it works in writing and conversation. I've also taught creative writing at the undergraduate level in both English and Spanish. The students I work with span a wide range: beginners learning Spanish, AP Spanish Language and Literature students prepping for the exam, college applicants drafting personal statements, undergraduates and grad students working on essays and theses, and fiction writers revising in either language.
My approach is student-centered. The first thing I ask any new student is what part of the subject is giving you the most trouble, and how you learn best. Some students need grammar walked through slowly; others want timed practice and tough feedback; others need help organizing their thoughts before they write. I tailor each session to what will actually move you forward, rather than running you through a one-size-fits-all curriculum. With AP students, we work backwards from the College Board rubric — persuasive essays, audio interpretation, cultural comparison, timed practice. With high school and college Spanish students, I focus on the grammar foundations textbooks gloss over and on rebuilding your confidence speaking out loud. With college essay clients, I help you find the real story underneath the draft you've been told to write. With thesis and fiction writers, we work on structure, argument or scene, and the line-level choices that separate competent writing from memorable writing.
I'm based in Puerto Rico and available 6 days of the week! Send me a message and tell me where you are — we'll go from there.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I've taught creative writing at the undergraduate level at an Harvard University in both English and Spanish — one of the few tutors who can workshop your fiction or poetry in either language. As a literature PhD candidate, I bring both a writer's instincts and a scholar's eye to short stories, flash fiction, poetry, personal essays, and longer works in progress. We focus on voice, structure, scene-building, and the harder craft questions: pacing, point of view, when to cut, when to slow down. Bilingual writers and students working on Spanish-language creative projects are especially welcome; I'll give feedback in the language you're writing in, and I can help if you're translating your own work between the two.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

Fiction is its own craft, and good fiction sessions feel less like a class and more like a workshop with someone who reads the way readers actually read. As a PhD candidate in literature and Harvard University creative writing TA (in both English and Spanish), I've worked with writers on short stories, flash fiction, novellas, and novels in progress. We dig into the things fiction lives or dies on: character interiority, dialogue that does more than one job, scene structure, point-of-view choices, pacing, and the line-level prose decisions that make a sentence land. Whether you're drafting your first short story, stuck halfway through a novel, or revising for submission to magazines or programs, I'll meet you where you are. Available in English or Spanish, including for writers working bilingually or translating their own fiction.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

Writing a thesis is a different game from writing class essays, and most students hit the same walls — a topic that's too broad, a draft that loses momentum in chapter two, an argument that doesn't quite hold across 40+ pages. As a PhD candidate currently writing my own dissertation in Romance Languages at Harvard University, I work with undergraduates on senior theses and graduate students on master's theses and dissertation chapters. I help with proposal and prospectus drafting, structuring chapters, building a coherent argument across long-form work, integrating primary sources and secondary literature, and the unglamorous but essential job of revising. Available in English or Spanish.
