I am a certified elementary teacher with more than seven years of experience teaching English to young learners in a classroom setting. Throughout my career, I have worked with students in kindergarten through third grade, helping them develop skills in reading, phonics, grammar, spelling, writing, vocabulary, and English as a Second Language.
My teaching approach is patient, structured, and supportive. I break skills into clear steps, use guided practice and visual supports, and adjust instruction according to each student’s level, pace, and learning needs. I have experience working with beginning readers, struggling readers, bilingual learners, and students who benefit from differentiated instruction and additional academic support.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Curriculum with a specialization in English at Caribbean University. My graduate studies have strengthened my knowledge of curriculum design, instruction, assessment, and effective teaching practices.
As a tutor, my goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practicing new skills, and making progress at their own pace. I want each student to strengthen foundational English skills, build confidence, and become a more independent learner.
