Hello! My name is Gabriel, and I’m from Puerto Rico. I am a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, and I hold a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering with a Minor in Project Management. My academic training gave me a strong background in mathematics, technical communication, and analytical problem-solving, which I now enjoy sharing with students.

My teaching experience began through a university outreach program, where I designed and led university-level math and engineering workshops tailored for high school students. I worked with groups of 10-20 students at a time, focusing on topics such as Precalculus and Industrial Engineering concepts. Later, I also tutored my university classmates one-on-one in Calculus, which strengthened my ability to explain challenging material in clear, simple steps. These experiences taught me how to adjust to different learning paces, whether helping a high school student prepare for an exam or guiding a peer through advanced coursework.

As a tutor, I adapt my methods to the subject and the student. In math, I emphasize building a strong foundation, practicing problem-solving strategies, and connecting new concepts to familiar ones so they “stick.” In language learning (Spanish and English), I combine grammar and vocabulary practice with conversational exercises and cultural insights, so students can confidently use the language in real-world situations. I’ve worked with both teens and adults, and my goal is always the same: to create a supportive and encouraging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at your own pace.

Whether you’re aiming for higher grades in Math class or working toward fluency in Spanish or English, I’d love to help you reach your goals step by step. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, I’d be happy to create a personalized learning plan for you.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I hold both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in engineering, fields that rely heavily on algebra as a foundation. I have experience helping students strengthen their Algebra 1 skills, from working with equations and inequalities to graphing and functions. My step-by-step approach helps students gain confidence by breaking problems into smaller, understandable parts. I aim to build a solid base so students are well-prepared for more advanced math courses.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is essential preparation for higher-level math, and I have guided students through topics such as quadratic functions, polynomials, and logarithms. My engineering studies required mastery of these concepts, and I bring that knowledge into tutoring with a clear, structured style. I focus on showing connections between different topics while reinforcing problem-solving strategies. My goal is to make Algebra 2 approachable and to help students feel confident tackling challenging problems.
Calculus

Calculus

I have a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, both of which required extensive calculus coursework. During my university years, I provided tutoring support in calculus to classmates and peers, helping them strengthen their understanding through step-by-step explanations and problem practice. Since I value thorough preparation, I carefully review material before sessions to ensure clear, accurate guidance. My focus is on building student confidence and showing practical strategies for tackling this challenging subject.
English

English

As a fluent English and Spanish speaker from Puerto Rico, I have firsthand experience mastering English as a second language. My academic and professional background required strong communication in English, and I enjoy helping others gain confidence in reading, writing, and speaking. I focus on both grammar and real-life usage, tailoring lessons to the student’s needs – whether for academic success, professional growth, or conversational practice. My approach creates a supportive space where students feel comfortable improving step by step.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is where students build the skills they need for all future math, and I take pride in helping students master this important stage. I simplify concepts such as fractions, decimals, and equations into clear, step-by-step explanations. My background in engineering and experience teaching math workshops allows me to connect abstract ideas to practical examples. I focus on making math approachable and giving students the confidence to succeed in Algebra and beyond.
Precalculus

Precalculus

With Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in engineering, I bring a strong foundation in advanced mathematics. I have taught precalculus concepts in workshops designed for high school students, making complex material accessible and engaging. My lessons highlight the connections between algebra, trigonometry, and calculus readiness. I adapt to each student’s pace, ensuring they feel confident and prepared for the challenges of higher-level math.
Spanish

Spanish

Spanish is my native language, and I bring the authentic perspective of someone who has lived his entire life in Puerto Rico. My bilingual background allows me to explain grammar clearly while also focusing on real-life communication and cultural insights. I use a mix of structured exercises and conversational practice so students can apply Spanish beyond the classroom. My lessons are patient, motivating, and tailored to the student’s personal goals.
