I have studied Latin for 8 years, and it's the subject I'm most passionate about. In college I studied abroad in Italy twice through scholarship, and won the CAMWS Advanced Latin Translation Contest in 2019. I've taught many series of textbooks to a wide range of students and help students prepare for the National Latin Exam every year.

When the lesson started: I knew there were 5 declensions for nouns, and that verbs were conjugated in some kind of family pattern....and that's it. What I learned at the end of the lesson: an introduction into how personal endings, how the personal endings changed in the 4 conjugation groups, the permutations that happen in other tenses and then the changes that happen between the present and perfect systems. Also explained basic categories like voice, mood, etc. that I had seen a definition of but could not grasp from the book alone. By the end of the lesson, I felt confident in attacking the next chapters on my own with a better understanding of the categories Latin verbs work in. Why Anna made this the easiest Latin lesson ever: Instead of just adding "concept" to "next concept" in a jumbled pile, I felt Anna really gave me a bird's-eye view of how the systems of grammar worked. As I dig in to personal endings and tenses now I'll be able to see how they fit in to the larger scheme, which makes them both easier to understand and easier to memorize. Anna did a spectacular job of giving a "lay of the land" for beginning Latin concepts. tl;dr: Would definitely recommend Anna's tutoring, especially if you're confused on basic concepts!!!
