I am a senior at Pennsylvania State University, majoring in biochemistry & molecular cell biology. My minors include microbiology and Spanish. My ultimate goal is to go to medical school for an MD and to work in maternal fetal medicine. I have always loved science and math from the moment I entered high school chemistry. Now I have taken advanced math and chemistry courses including calculus 1, 2, and 3, microbiology, molecular cell biology, physical chemistry, physics, genetics, etc. I have also taken lab courses which involved conducting my own research projects. I also have volunteering experience teaching science and math to elementary students in my hometown.
I have been studying Spanish for 8 years now, since I was a freshmen in high school. I have taken many linguistics, speech, composition, and advanced grammar courses since then. I enjoy teaching the grammar, including the dreaded conjugations of every tense/mood the language has to offer. I am an employed student Spanish tutor at Penn State University for the athletes on campus. I have tutored one-on-one there for nearly a year now. I tutored Spanish for years prior as well, including at my high school for many students who needed additional assistance.
I have been tutoring science and Spanish for 6 years. I have only been paid to do so in the last year, but I take my job seriously nevertheless. My ultimate goal is for my student to leave the session having a deeper understanding of the concepts he or she is learning in class so they can apply that knowledge to an exam. I am available for last minute sessions to study for an exam or to help the student grasp a concept not understood in the classroom. I can also make a semester commitment to help the student study throughout the course. I am available to all learners of any age, and I am more than happy to help as much as I can.
If interested, I can tutor biology, chemistry, microbiology, algebra 1 or 2, biostatistics, and any level of Spanish. K-12 and College learners are all welcomed here.
