I am a Certified Elementary Grade Level Teacher with more than ten years of experience as a teacher/tutor with a specialty in remedial reading, language arts and mathematics. I have tutored children ranging in age from kindergarten to 8th grade in remedial reading. I am experienced in Direct Instruction using the SRA Dostar Reading program developed by Siegfried Englemann. Direct Reading helps children become better learners and get a head start in comprehension while boosting skills in critical thinking and writing. Direct Instruction is based in demonstration and action.

I offer patience in making sure each assignment is fully understood. I can also show you how to use the program in between tutoring sessions -- you'll be building a more positive relationship with your child! I also offer a Direct Instruction to build Arithmetic Skills in preparation for Fractions, Percentages and other advanced Mathematics. As a publicist and resume writer, I am skilled in writing and editing reports, memos, personal statements, newsletters and brochures. I am interested in coaching adults who would like to improve their written and public speaking skills. I enjoy working with foreign-born professionals who need assistance in promoting themselves in the workplace.
