Greetings! After spending 3 years abroad in Japan teaching English I have returned home and am hoping to find work in the education sector. While searching for a more permanent job I thought it would be fun to tutor and combine American and Japanese teaching styles in a way to help many students. My teaching styles are very flexible and I strive to help every child learn.
I very much like mental math; my brain is numbers oriented. Elementary math has always seemed like somewhat of a game...

I very much like mental math; my brain is numbers oriented. Elementary math has always seemed like somewhat of a game to me and I hope I can help many students become proficient at math.
I taught English in Japan for 3 years at 5 different elementary schools. I used phonics to help the younger grades (1st-3rd) and, using a mostly self created curriculum, showed many students how fun it can be to use English.
Japanese has always been a passion of mine since college, since 2010 I have spent 3 and a half years in Japan working on my language skills. I also passed the JLPT Japanese Language Proficiency Test at the second highest level, N2.
