As your tutor, I bring you twenty years of experience as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Rutgers University at Newark. I hold a Ph.D in philosophy from The European Graduate School, Switzerland, and an MA in psychology from The New School for Social Research in NYC. I have taught Clinical Psychology, Advanced Clinical, Child Counseling, Abnormal, Lifespan, Personality Theories, Psychology of Religion, Media Psychology, Critical Psychology, the History & Philosophy of Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, and Social Psychology. I have excellent faculty and student reviews for both in-person and online teaching. I am passionate about sharing my experience and knowledge with intellectually curious psychology and philosophy students.

I am also a professional trombonist, pianist, and vocalist. I studied undergraduate trombone with Per Brevig at The Mannes School of Music in NYC. I also studied graduate work at The Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium, with Ivan Meylemans. I have written and recorded many works and have concentrated on jazz and improvisation performance for the past decade. I was a trombonist with Carnegie Hall's New York Youth Symphony for two seasons and served as a trombonist on the Long Island Youth Orchestra's 1995 World Tour. I was the principal trombonist for the Orquesta Filarmonica de Lima, Peru in 1996. I currently perform with several jazz groups and actively record new music.

I specialize in teaching older adults how to play the piano for pleasure. I also work with trombonists of all ages and levels to prepare for college auditions. I am willing to teach self-motivated and dedicated children beginner piano. I offer musicianship studies for all instruments, including solfeggio, ear training, theory, analysis, and interpretation. I have had several students accepted into college music programs.

If you are an intellectually curious and dedicated student looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, seasoned professional, I can help you realize your potential.

Ear Training

Ear Training

I help students cultivate musicianship through traditional European conservatory ear training methods. As I sit at the piano, the students will work through recognizing intervals, chords, scales, and modes. We use the Modus Vetus, Modus Novus, and Paul Hindemith texts for ear training. Students learn to transcribe melodies from dictation.
Piano

Piano

I specialize in teaching older adults how to play the piano for pleasure. I studied classical repertoire and technique with Paul Schocker of Easton, Pennsylvania, and at The Mannes School of Music with Peter Bellino of New York City. I have spent the last decade working at solo jazz and accompaniment piano. I have written and recorded dozens of works for solo piano. I consider working with young beginners who are committed and self-motivated. I believe in fostering a strong sense of musicianship through composition, technique study, and repertoire.
Psychology

Psychology

Faculty member, Rutgers University at Newark, Department of psychology.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I work with students in the traditional European conservatory tradition of fixed-do solfeggio. Using the system formulated by Natalie Boulangier, I work with students in sight-singing through the Danhauser Solfège des solfèges text used at major conservatories. I studied solfeggio at The Mannes School of Music and The Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium.
Trombone

Trombone

With thirty years of trombone teaching experience, I studied with Per Brevig (Metropolitan Opera) at The Mannes School of Music in NYC. I studied with Ivan Meylemans (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) at The Royal Conservatory in Brussels, Belgium. I am a former trombonist with The Orquesta Filarmonica de Lima, Peru, Carnegie Hall's New York Youth Symphony, and The Monocacy Brass. I currently perform in the G&G Jazz Duo. I can teach beginner through college-level trombonists in orchestral, jazz, and improvisational music.
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

In addition to my undergraduate studies at The Mannes School of Music, and my graduate work at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, I have also studied the vocal teaching course at Moravian College. I have recorded multiple pop vocal albums. I have coached classical voice for successful College and choir auditions.
