Update after several lessons - life changing!
It was a great decision to choose Jennifer for math tutoring. She has really offered genuine content-directed mastery and help. So much appreciated and with real results. Hooray! I wrote that awhile ago, now, and I'd like to add that my 15 year old has gone from a very discouraged, negative attitude about all things math, to being excited and interested in the subject he thought he "would never get, never care about, what's the point." What makes it incredible to me is how quickly these lessons have turned a mystery (for him) into competence and a desire for mastery. He didn't want his lesson last night to come to an end - all thanks to a teacher who understands how to reach out with alternative ways to approach the problems, an attitude that just exudes care and patience, and a real pleasure at his success. I'm so happy and so is he. I will add a little more - last spring, his grade was below incompetence, if that is possible. Tears and avoidance - after these lessons have unlocked the doors to understanding, not only does he have an A in math, but that stirring of interest and curiosity that leads to satisfying discovery.

When I first reached out to Jennifer and explained that my Statistics class uses only the TI 83/84 Calculator, Jennifer was honest and informed me that she only knew how to calculate the problems using the formulas. However, I was truly impressed when she asked me to submit the work to her for review and she would try to work with the calculator. Within a day, Jennifer called me to inform me that she acquired a Ti 84 plus calculator and after researching various resources, she was not only able to solve my math problems but also explain how to use the calculator step by step. I was grateful for the personal commitment she made and the time and effort that Jennifer showed in order to help me excel in my Statistics class. I could not have gotten that A without her. She was extremely patient,understanding and a great pleasure to work with. Thank you Jennifer.
