Hello there! I hope you’re doing well!

Regarding my qualifications, I have two bachelor’s degrees, one in biology and one in psychology, and I am currently working towards a master’s degree in public health. I previously prepared for medical school and scored a 522 on the MCAT (130/130/131/131), though my path has shifted more towards public health. I have also been teaching mindfulness and meditation for six years, and mixed martial arts for one year.

I have taught in a variety of formats, including as a TA in an undergraduate classroom, in supervisory groups, one-to-one with high schoolers and college students, and in larger community settings. My teaching style focuses on systematically approaching the needs of my students, whether as individuals or in a group, and addressing issues in a bottom-up perspective.

With most students that I’ve taught, I find that their difficulties don’t just come from the specific subject they are working on. Instead, it tends to be that issues exist in their foundational knowledge, their motivation, their framework for learning, or their general wellness, which can exaggerate any issues with learning the material. There are many things that can be chalked up to a student’s “lack of potential”, and I see it as my duty as an instructor to give my students the full foundation needed to be an excellent student.

Logistically, I am willing to tutor at third locations, at students’ homes, and virtually, which can be discussed before meeting. If pricing is a concern, please let me know! While the price listed is an average, I am more than happy to adjust based on the needs of the student/s. I also prefer not to charge for the first hour of tutoring, as I want my students to feel sure that the tutoring relationship will be a good fit for them.

If you have read until this point, thank you for your time! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, and I will do my best to give the answers you’re looking for!
