I believe this wholeheartedly. We can use art as an escape from reality for a little while (losing one's self) or we can use it to help ground us, mentally or emotionally (finding one's self). Everyone has the ability to express themselves through art but what is necessary to advance your skills is to develop your technique and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. I have been involved in the arts since I was about 8 years old and I can tell you from experience, practice is key!
As a graduate from the College of Staten Island with a Bachelors of Science in Art and Certificate of 2D Animation from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I pride myself on having developed techniques in a vast array of art mediums. I enjoy helping others to develop their skills and learn different ideas of how to express them.
I specialize in pencil and charcoal drawing, shading and painting with oil paint and acrylics. At the end of our session I'd like to leave the student with a small assignment until our next session. Just something to help practice.
My starting rate is $40/hr. I would prefer that the students travel to me as I am new to the area but if you are local I don't mind traveling to the student. I will also provide supplies during the tutoring session (i.e:paint, pencils canvas, paper). For more information please feel free to contact me.
