Hi! I’m Kolby, a certified Social Studies teacher based in Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in Education and certification in secondary education. I earned my B.A. in History from West Chester University and have additional training in online instruction and classroom technology integration, which shapes how I support students virtually.
I’ve been teaching since 2019 and currently teach 8th-grade U.S. History in a public school setting, working with a wide range of learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans. I also spent several years teaching in a fully virtual program, delivering both live and self-paced instruction for middle and high school Social Studies courses such as U.S. History, Government, and World Cultures. This experience has made me highly adaptable to different learning styles in an online setting.
My teaching approach is student-centered and focused on building strong content knowledge alongside critical thinking, reading comprehension, and writing skills. I break down complex topics into manageable pieces, use real-world connections, and provide clear strategies for essays, DBQs, and test questions. I also emphasize organization and study habits to support long-term success.
I’ve worked with students in both classroom and small-group settings and aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable and confident. Whether students need help catching up, preparing for exams, or advancing further, I tailor each session to their goals and learning style.
