I am a high school English teacher with professional classroom experience teaching literature, writing, reading comprehension, and critical analysis to students in grades 9–12. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching, and I am a certified secondary English educator. My academic and professional background has given me extensive experience in close reading, analytical writing, grammar and mechanics, essay organization, and helping students build confidence in both written and verbal communication.
I have several years of experience teaching in a classroom setting, working primarily with high school students in both standard and advanced English courses. My teaching experience includes guiding students through literary analysis, argumentative and analytical essay writing, reading comprehension strategies, research writing, and college essay development. In addition to whole-class instruction, I regularly work with students one-on-one in conferences to provide individualized support with drafting, revision, organization, and skill-building based on each student’s needs.
My approach to tutoring is student-centered and highly individualized. I focus on helping students strengthen both their skills and their confidence by breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps, identifying patterns in areas of difficulty, and building practical strategies that students can apply independently.
