My name is Kyle! I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2023 with a degree in Materials Science and Engineering. In college, I worked as an interpreter at a natural history museum, where I learned that I have a great passion for breaking down complex science topics to make them accessible to everyone! Working as an informal educator has helped me develop strategies to teach and connect with folks of all ages. I will meet you where you’re at, ready to try multiple approaches to help further your understanding. My expertise is in chemistry and physics, but I am also confident in my ability to help with high-school level biology and earth sciences, as well as mathematics (up to and including calculus).
I believe that there is nothing out there that is too difficult for us to understand. Sometimes, we just need to think about things a little differently! I value flexibility and creativity over a one-size-fits-all approach; if your textbook or classroom notes don’t work for you, then we can work together to find a new way to help you understand the material.
I also believe in the value of strong written communication. In 2020, I won the University of Delaware’s Arak Award for excellence in academic writing. I am also a skilled technical writer, and I can help with every step of the writing process for your lab report, essay, or research paper, from brainstorming and organizing to the final proofread.
It is my ultimate goal to help students get to a place where they feel confident with their material and empowered to succeed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions for me!
