I am a high school graduate planning to minor in economics. I was one in 49 out of about 135,000 students worldwide to receive a perfect score on the 2022 AP Macroeconomics exam. I also received an A in my class. I took AP Microeconomics in 2023 and earned an A in the course. I have yet to receive my AP exam score. I have been tutoring on Learn to Be, an online platform, for two years. Similarly, I have tutored my classmates in both of the previously mentioned economics courses for the past two years. They have seen significant improvements in their understanding of the concepts and have gotten better test scores.
Not only do I go over the answers to questions, I love to explain the reasoning behind the question - what the question is actually trying to test and the misconceptions that the wrong answers are capitalizing on. By understanding common mistakes, it is easier to rule out wrong answers quickly and choose correctly when between two answer choices. In addition, I can explain/clarify concepts using examples and drawing multiple graphs illustrating the same concept - something economics is notorious for. I focus on drawing connections between units and graphs so that the ideas are easier to grasp and the significance of the unit is understood.
