Bio

I have worked for over 20 years in the private sector in business and financial services. I currently hold a teaching certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for Business, Information Technology, and Computers in grades K-12. I have used such applications as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access on a professional basis.

I have used such applications as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access on a professional basis.

My bachelor's degree is in Computer Management Information Systems from Holy Family University. I also have undergraduate experience in teaching Spanish and French and am proficient in Italian, Romanian, and Portuguese. I have also studied German and Dutch and used both conversationally with friends. I have tutored in many subjects including ESL, grammar and spelling, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

I am flexible with different learning styles as I realize not all students learn the same way or at the same rate so I try to adapt my teaching to what works for that individual learner.

I have all three of my clearances to work in schools: Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Background Check, and Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, which are current for the 2014-2015 school year and I have on hand for those who request these documents.

We have been happy with this tutor.

Peter is very comprehensive. He provides worksheets to study during the week and accesses computer sites that are helpful and sends reviews after some lessons. He arrives on time and is encouraging and positive to kids struggling with academics. He has a friendly, intelligent personality. He answers emails promptly. We are glad to recommend him.

A very good instructor

Peter is a very good instructor and comes to each lesson well prepared and he has the patience needed for students new to a foreign language. He also does a great job of following up with a review of the lessons work the next day. He also goes above and beyond in supplying supplemental study materials that are helpful. I give him an A.
