I'm currently a junior at the University of Delaware majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Genetic Counseling. My coursework includes advanced biology classes such as cell biology, developmental biology, physiology, and biochemistry, along with a strong foundation in writing and communication through both my academic studies and my work experience. I also take psychology and physics courses, which helps me support students in interdisciplinary subjects. I'm passionate about making science and writing more approachable, especially for students who feel overwhelmed or discouraged.
For the past year, I've worked as a peer writing tutor at my university's writing center, where I meet with students one-on-one to help them improve clarity, organization, and confidence in their academic writing. My tutoring style is collaborative and supportive—I believe in meeting students where they are and helping them build understanding through conversation, examples, and guided practice. Most of my experience has been with college students, but I have also volunteered with younger students in a mentoring capacity and feel comfortable adapting my approach to different age groups and academic levels.
Whether I’m helping someone understand mitosis or craft a personal statement, I aim to create a low-pressure environment where students feel safe asking questions and exploring new ideas. I’m deeply committed to both learning and teaching, and I love watching students grow not only in their skills but also in their confidence.
