I am a life-long art lover, constantly drawing as a child. My love of art led me to major in Art, and eventually I pursued advanced degrees in art history, as I also fell in love with traveling all over the world to visit art museums and monuments. When I look at art, something special happens inside. I would love for everyone, no matter who they are, to experience the beauty and complexity and creativity that encompasses all art. Thus, my main goal as an art educator is to instill a lifelong appreciation of art in my students. Over the years students have written to me thanking me for helping them understand what they are looking at when they visit a museum or art gallery.

As an experienced college instructor, I have worked with many students who are all individuals with different learning styles. For some students, learning about art and art history comes easy. Others struggle with the best way to understand the sometimes overwhelming amount of information that teachers expect them to understand. For some students, Modern Art, with its de-emphasis on traditional beauty and forms, is a mystery. If you need a little help, or if you feel your studying skills could use a boost, I would like to open up art for you so that you meet your immediate goals of improving your grades, but I also would like to make art part of your world.

I have been teaching and working with all types of students for more than twenty years. I know the textbooks, and have an excellent grasp of most subjects. I also have experience as an artist - in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and fiber.
