Hi! I'm Daniel, currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems with an additional major in Policy & Management at Carnegie Mellon University. I have an extensive history in teaching students, most notably as a former AmeriCorps Literacy Corps Instructor and a private tennis and oboe teacher. Through these experiences, I've learned that connecting with the student is crucial for the student's growth. It's what separates a good tutor from a bad one, or even from alternate forms of instruction: if the tutor truly understands the student, then they will know what to do to motivate and build both their aptitudes and their confidence in the subject.
I offer PSAT and Python instruction due to my unique position as someone who is not only familiar with the same academic challenges my students face, having recently experienced them, but who has learned to overcome them. I received a perfect 1520 on my PSAT, giving me National Merit Finalist status, and am confident in introducing students to Python, having received an A in CMU's notoriously rigorous Python class, 15-112. I am not far removed from the challenges students face with these important concepts, and I understand how to equip them with the requisite tools to learn efficiently and effectively.
