I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Universidad de Costa Rica and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University. Additionally, I have obtained teaching certificates in Biology and Spanish from Penn State University and certifications as a Master Gardener (Phipps Conservatory) and Community Herbalist (Florida School of Holistic Living).

I have extensive experience teaching Spanish and Biology in various educational settings. In addition to traditional classroom instruction, I have worked in Environmental Education. My experience also includes leading conservation and community development programs for university students.

My teaching philosophy is student-centered, incorporating interactive and experiential learning strategies to engage students in meaningful ways. I have experience designing and implementing curricula tailored to diverse learning styles, utilizing hands-on activities, field-based instruction, and inquiry-based learning to foster critical thinking. Additionally, I have facilitated workshops and developed educational programs in English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility for a broad range of learners.
