I have a strong biology and natural science background, which is largely what is covered at the elementary level, and I have worked in summer camps promoting science to kids. At the elementary level, science is about inspiring curiosity and exploration, so I make science lessons as fun, engaging and hands on as possible. Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I took a public speaking class in high school and have since had a lot of experience delivering talks for various purposes. I have also tutored public speaking at elementary school level and could tutor through high school level, or basic speech preparation. I use tools for how to think about public speaking, tricks for practicing, and ways to motivate or build confidence. I previously worked at a science museum giving impromptu talks on the exhibits or 2-5 minute prepared presentation material, where I learned how to read an audience and tailor my speech to their interests. I've helped prepare speeches as short as 2 minutes to as long as 30. I know how to edit and shape a speech based on time limits, interests or key points and the audience it is presented to, so that the same material can be presented in a variety of ways. My extensive experience with public speaking and analytical approach to talk structure make me a very qualified tutor in this subject. Expanding our vocabulary and learning new words is a vital part of our education, whether at the elementary school level or studying for the GRE's.
