About Me
I am a university mathematics instructor with more than 30 years of experience teaching college mathematics, including Calculus I–III. Over that time I have taught hundreds of college students and accumulated roughly 18,000 hours of classroom instruction, along with many additional hours mentoring students, grading work, and providing academic support.
Earlier in my career I worked as an SAT math tutor with a Boston-based test preparation company, helping students strengthen their quantitative skills and prepare for standardized exams.
My tutoring focuses on building strong mathematical foundations while helping students understand why methods work. Many students struggle in calculus because earlier ideas were never fully clear; addressing those gaps often makes later topics much easier to understand.
I frequently work with engineering and science majors who want consistent support throughout the semester, especially when preparing for quizzes, midterms, and final exams.
Subjects
Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III / Multivariable Calculus, Engineering calculus topics, Precalculus review
How I Teach
My sessions emphasize understanding rather than memorization. I help students: break complex problems into clear steps, identify common mistakes early, and connect new topics with earlier material.
The goal is not only to complete the current homework but also to make the next topic easier to learn.
Rates: $70/hour, $50 first session
