My name is Cayden, and I am a straight A university sophomore at Penn State. I am working towards a degree in Human Centered Design and Development, with a minor in Music Technology. I tutored two elementary school students for a part time job last summer and this summer and am prepared to teach to older students and college students as well.
When I was in high school, advanced math classes were troublesome for me, but I was able to stay on top with the help of a tutor who was knowledgeable about the material and reflected my words back to me with guidance in order to help me come to the answers on my own. This strategy, as well as a concentration on elaborative rehearsal, can allow anyone to master a topic they are struggling with, especially if they are preparing for a test, or want to get ahead of the curve. In other words, it is important to connect what a student learns to their own life or past experiences, in order to make sure that no matter the difficulty of the subject, the learning will be fine-tuned to help retrieval from memory.
It is my goal to give students the best learning experience possible, so I reply as quickly as I can and am open to any suggestions that a student or parent has for how they want to learn or be taught. Please contact me if you have any questions, or if you want to schedule a lesson!
