Hi, I'm Emma! I'm a rising junior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Public Health and Chemistry on the pre-med track. As an Honors College student with a 3.98 GPA and consistent Dean’s List recognition, I bring both strong academic performance and a genuine passion for science. At Pitt, I’ve completed General Chemistry I & II and Organic Chemistry I & II, including all associated labs. I find chemistry fascinating, but I also understand how challenging and overwhelming it can feel at times. My goal as your tutor is to help you feel confident, engaged, and capable of mastering your course material.

Over the past year, I’ve gained more than 100 hours of chemistry tutoring experience through Pitt’s Study Lab. In this role, I worked weekly with a group of about 10 undergraduate students to support their understanding of lecture content and help them build effective study strategies. During the fall semester, I focused on General Chemistry I, and in the spring, I supported students in General Chemistry II. I’ve also taken a 1-credit course and completed a 6-hour training on peer tutoring, where I learned evidence-based strategies for providing academic support, asking guiding questions, and building student confidence.
