Hi, I'm Aishwarya! I graduated from Washington and Lee University with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Poverty and Human Capability Studies. I have over six years of tutoring experience working with students from elementary school through college.
I began tutoring in high school, working with elementary-aged students for approximately two years while also tutoring fellow high school students. In college, I continued tutoring for all four years and served as a Senior Peer Tutor and Peer Tutor Coordinator. I have tutored students in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, psychology, philosophy, economics, math, and reading.
Working with students across different ages and subjects has taught me that every student learns differently. My tutoring approach focuses on identifying where a student is struggling, breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps, and finding explanations that fit their individual learning style. I like to work through concepts and examples together before giving students the opportunity to practice independently. My goal is not just to help students find the right answer, but to make sure they understand how to get there and feel confident doing it on their own.
My background in biochemistry and scientific research gives me a particularly strong foundation in STEM, while my interdisciplinary education has prepared me to support students in a variety of subjects. Most importantly, I strive to create a patient and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Whether a student needs help with homework, exam preparation, foundational skills, or challenging course material, I am happy to tailor each session to their individual goals. I also welcome feedback from students and parents so we can find the approach that works best for them.
