Hello Everyone. My name is Todd Godwin. I am a language teacher, historian, and world cultures expert with a PhD in World Cultures and Religions from the University of London. I am a fluent speaker of Japanese and Chinese and have knowledge of 20 other languages as well (including Arabic), and over 25 years of experience in teaching languages, history, and comparative cultural studies. My PhD work focused on Silk Road history, and Middle Eastern connections to China. I have an MA in Linguistics and an MA in Comparative Religions as well.

I am a writing teacher as well, and one of my fortes is helping students organize their ideas in writing, and have some 20 years' experience in doing this in various institutions. I am a linguist too, and have tutored over the last ten years in Japanese, Chinese and Spanish. I have taught broadly in the area of Religious History, Christian, Jewish, and Islamic, but also Asian religions and cultures as well, over the past 25 plus years. I have helped students in test preparation for the ACT and TOEFL as well, and have ten years experience teaching English to non native speakers of English.

I have lived off and on in East Asia for the past 25 years, and have lived in Japan three times for a total of about ten years, where I have taught English and other languages. I have taught Japanese to high school students online at at homeschool for the last ten years. I have aided immigrants to the United States and worked in a Refugee Resettlement office, and study Spanish currently, as well as teach ESL to Hispanic students, and feel a deep connection to immigrants to the United States and to bringing hospitality to them. I am currently training to be a priest. I enjoy helping students find their footing in their writing projects and language studies, and feel that this is a spiritual path and feel that this knowledge helps us make ourselves into better human beings.
