Hello, I'm Jacob and I am a senior Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology Pre-Med Student with a minor in philosophy at the University of Scranton and will attend Temple Medical School next school year. I have 2 years of experience in tutoring freshman, sophomore, and junior college students chemistry in both one on one and group formats. I have so far maintained a 3.85 GPA in college, and excelled in chemistry, biology, and biochemistry courses, and I am on track to graduate summa cum laude. Through my philosophy coursework, I have gained an appreciation of how different perspectives and viewpoints can influence people's understanding of the world. I have also gained an appreciation for critical thinking, and I try to incorporate these insights into my tutoring.
I like to take a comprehensive approach in my tutoring by assessing students' comprehension of the material and discussing a custom plan based on their specific needs and areas they would like to improve on. This could include creating a step-by-step plan for approaching a chemistry question or drawing out a process for a biology question. I want to benefit tutees as much as possible and thus will strive to remain adaptable in my tutoring strategies to determine the best way to relay concepts for each individual. I am easy to contact and will provide fast feedback. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to schedule a tutoring session!
