I enjoy learning and teaching with the belief education is an important part of professional development. I began my nursing career as an ADN raised my son and had a successful career. However; I always meant to achieve a higher professional degree for my satisfaction and not financial gain. So I returned to college as an adult learner. I completed my BSN and MSN. I am now working on my Ph.D. in nursing education. Throughout my nursing career, I have had the opportunity to influence positive change. I’m a champion for nursing theory, evidence-based nursing practices, clinical education, and innovation.
I hold extensive experience in teaching nurses, patients, families, and communities throughout
diverse nursing disciplines. My leadership success is founded on a strong nursing background
across a range of settings, including nurse management, nurse education, healthcare informatics,
occupational health, geriatrics, correctional, medical-surgical home health, and hospice education,
at-risk youth school nursing, and presentations for a national non-profit healthcare organization.
My MSN is a specialty in Nursing Education. The most recent teaching appointment is with a University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing professor assisting curriculum development for Cross-Cull Healthcare which acted as my MSN capstone project. I currently work for a prominent university's school of nursing interacting with undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The relationships provide perspective on the contemporary student experience of navigating family responsibilities, school, work, and COVID-19 restrictions. I practice a real-world approach recognizing students' individual learning styles and life responsibilities.
I don't see tutoring the same for nurses. I believe learning support in our profession is more coaching, collaboration, and inspiration. That said, I look forward to an opportunity to support your professional and educational goals.
