Hi, I’m Nina! I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, with my bachelor’s thesis focused on physical chemistry. After graduating, I spent a year working in university research, where teaching and helping students became one of the parts of my work that I enjoyed most.
During my time at the university, I supervised and supported students in the laboratory, co-supervised bachelor’s students, graded theses, and led a 3-day Master’s-level laboratory course. These experiences taught me that understanding a subject isn’t just about memorizing information—it’s about finding an explanation that actually makes sense to you.
That is the approach I bring to tutoring. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and saying “I don’t understand” without feeling embarrassed. I adjust my teaching style to each student and focus on breaking complicated concepts into smaller, manageable steps. Depending on the student and the subject, lessons can include explanations, worked examples, practice problems, homework help, and reviewing mistakes together to figure out why an answer was incorrect.
I specialize in Chemistry, particularly general chemistry and physical chemistry, and I can also help with related foundational science and mathematics concepts when they are needed to understand the material.
My goal isn’t simply to help you get through one assignment or prepare for one exam. I want to help you understand why something works so that you can approach similar problems confidently on your own.
