Hi, my name is Lexi! I am a fourth-year English and Law, Justice, and Society student at Washington and Lee University, which is ranked #4 for best liberal arts colleges in America by Niche. At school, I have extensive experience with tutoring, as I am a peer tutor in our campus Writing Center, open to all students and writing abilities. For this position, I took a required semester-long course that thoroughly prepared me for one on one tutoring sessions.
I have worked with 100-, 200-, and 300-level coursework, helping students organize, plan, write, proofread, and fine-tune their assignments. My current GPA is a 3.9/4.0. Before college, I was a high school tutor, and I tutored middle school-age students in my school district. I also scored in the 98th percentile nationally in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section of the SAT.
I am passionate about writing, literature, grammar, analysis, and reading. I have 3 years of tutoring experience with middle school through college-age students, and I love working with all age groups! On campus, I am also a Peer Counselor, a position in which I provide confidential, peer-based mental health support and guidance to first-year students, offering a safe space for open conversation and emotional well-being.
I am understanding, patient, and enthusiastic; I love collaborating with others, and I truly enjoy helping people achieve their fullest academic potential.
